Back in December last year, you may you remember the #grubclubcard pic competition. We asked you to take an eye-catching picture featuring your Outlaw’s Grub Club card, and post it to Twitter or Instagram using #outlawsgrubclub. Up for grabs was a 3 night stay at St. Enodoc Hotel, a foodie journey across Nathan’s restaurants and pub in Cornwall, and to top it all off - a Seafood Master Class with Nathan.
The winner, Hayley (who’s winning entry featured a homemade board game), and her husband Carsten, joined Nathan at Restaurant Nathan Outlaw in Port Isaac in June. Sitting at the Kitchen Bar, they watched as Nathan guided them through the art of filleting Mackerel and then Lemon Sole, explaining the importance of a good knife and teaching them a couple of time saving “tricks” when removing all the bones from Mackerel. Nathan then prepared and cooked, from scratch, two dishes, demonstrating techniques and flavour combinations ideal for cooking at home: Mackerel with pickled vegetables and green sauce, and Lemon Sole with asparagus and a seaweed beurre blanc. As Hayley and Carsten enjoyed their private lunch with Nathan, washed down with a rare Sauvignon Blanc from Burgundy (yes, Burgundy!), there was only one thing left to do…and out came the Outlaw’s Grub Club board game!
